We are looking for an experienced 3rd Line IT Support Technician to join a growing independent business based in Stourbridge.

If you’re the type of person who would enjoy the variety of working with a mix of different businesses, providing outsourced IT support, then this could be the role for you.  You will be the sort of person who enjoys consulting with and helping customers along with being able to demonstrate a range of solid technical skills.  Ideally, you will also have an interest in how the business works from a commercial perspective and want to get involved in the growth and expansion plans for the future.

The role is based in Stourbridge, West Midlands, and will involve telephone and remote support as well as the occasional (approximately once a week) onsite work to clients that are mainly based within the Midlands and surrounding counties.

The starting salary is £35K - £45K dependent on level of skills and experience.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and fix IT hardware and software issues via phone, email, and remote support.
  • You must have experience in installing and/or transferring servers in both physical and cloud-based environments.
  • Sales Quotations: Create technical sales quotes that meet customer needs completely.
  • Tier 1 Support: Assist with overflow of tickets and calls, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Collaboration: Work with our 3rd line technicians to escalate calls when necessary.
  • Coordination: Liaise with suppliers and channel partners to resolve problems and queries.
  • Hands-On IT Work: Configure, install, monitor, and maintain computer systems and networks.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain support documentation to help colleagues and empower users.
  • On-Site Support: Visit customer sites to provide support and install new systems.
What We're Looking For:
Experience and Knowledge:
  • A track record in developing productive working relationships with colleagues, industry peers and clients.
  • Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Enrolment
  • Power Automate and PowerShell scripting
  • Windows Server technologies (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS)
  • Bare metal recovery and backup procedures
  • Microsoft Windows 10 and earlier versions
  • Antivirus concepts and remote management tools
  • Networking (wireless, VoIP, cabling, routing, VPN, managed networks)
Skills:
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Confident communicator via email, phone, and in person
  • Eager to learn new products and technologies
  • Logical approach to troubleshooting
  • Clear and polite phone manner
Must haves:
  • Local to Stourbridge or within reasonable commute
  • Able to drive with full licence (company vehicle available for site visits)
  • Able to install/transfer servers
  • Enthusiastic about working in a small, dynamic business environment
